Lots of WWII weapons are still in circulation out there%2C especially in the parts of the world that don%27t have the industrial base to support modern stuff. The Mg42 was a sturdy%2C well-made%2C low-maintenance weapon and its ammunition is still readily available. What the hell - the US Army still uses its standard machineguns from the same period. Every M1 tank has a Browning .50 on it.%0D%0A%0D%0ANow%2C if you saw a guy with an %5Bi%5DF%5B%2Fi%5Dg42%2C that would be weird. %3A%29%0D%0A%0D%0A--G.%0D%0A-%3E%3C-%0D%0ABenjamin D. The MG-42%2C from what I understand%2C is a FAST gun%2C extremely portable considering the amount of firepower it has%2C and relatively cheap to produce and%2For acquire. After WWII%2C Yugoslavia continued to make these guns for quite a while%2C so there may still be guns that old %281950%27s-60%27s%29floating around places like Pakistan%2C where secondhand weaponry is ubiqutous. Or it may just be that the guns have a similar form factor. Italy uses a variation on that currently%2C the MG-42%2F59m also known at the MG-3%2C which according to http%3A%2F%2Fwww.millenniumsend.com%2Fpdf%2Fnational.pdf %2C is also in Pakistan%27s standard arsenal.%0D%0A%0D%0A The Beautiful Voice Admin%0D%0A-%5Blink%3Ageocities.com%2Flady_kozue %7CLady Kozue%27s Media Archive%5D%0D%0A-%5Blink%3Ageocities.com%2Fthebeautifulvoice%7CThe Beautiful Voice%5D 4|1|0|||||RE%3A could it be%3F|Anpwhotep||02:20:18|07/15/2002|%0D%0A%3EDid my eyes play a trick on me%3F Was it just some gun that looked %0D%0A%3Esimilar to the MG-42%3F Or is there still an army that is still using %0D%0A%3EGerman WWII weapons%3F %0D%0A%0D%0APossibly. Another possibility is that it%27s a home-built MG. Remember that Pakistan is one of the world centers of homemade military weaponry. And by homemade%2C I mean just that. You%27ve got some guy with bar stock%2C a lathe%2C and files%2C turning out handmade copies of military weapons in back of the house%2C while someone else is in front of the house selling it to whoever comes along. Then you have the guys in the house next door turning out bullets using shredded film for powder.%0D%0A%0D%0AAdmittedly%2C the government might not admit to buying their weapons that way%2C but it is a possibility.%0D%0A
