January 2410%29 front-line WDF fighters%2C the best of the lot in his opinion is probably the VF-11 Thunderbolt%2C but he hasn%27t got a lot of time in any of the types that were introduced after he retired from the WDF%2C so that%27s not what he would call a really expert opinion.  On the fixed-config side of the fence%2C %0D%0A%0D%0ANaturally%2C his favorite fighter of all time remains the VF-1.  If he had the time and energy to spare%2C he would almost certainly have put together a team at the IPO Yards to develop a modernization program that would bring the VF-1 back up to front-line spec and make it competitive with the VF-11 and the next-generation Veritech fighters currently being tested.  Alas%2C he%27s too busy just now%2C so the %22New Century Valkyrie%22 will have to remain an enthusiast%27s dream for the moment.%0D%0A%0D%0A%3EIs there a starfighter that he dislikes%3F %0D%0A%0D%0AOh%2C quite a few%2C I expect.  Back in the Golden Age%2C he had a special antipathy for ExoSalusia%27s second-generation Rapier fighters%2C because they took what had been an outstanding space superiority fighter and gave the new model%2C for no really explicable reason%2C the worst cockpit visibility in the industry.  He%27s never been too enamored of GENOM%27s TIE series either%2C though the TIE Avenger impressed him enough to become the weapon of choice for the IPO%27s Babylon Station defense squadron in spite of its less distinguished antecedents.%0D%0A%0D%0AOf the current generation of fightercraft out there%2C he doesn%27t care much for the Starfury%27s handling characteristics%2C and the RZ-8 Stinger %28AKA %22A-Wing%22%29 strikes him as fragile and overly twitchy %28though the build quality%2C it has to be said%2C is excellent%29.  There again%2C he%27s not really a current starfighter pilot%2C so those are mostly impressions gained from a few hours of %22courtesy%22 seat time stolen at odd moments over the last few years.%0D%0A%0D%0AWorst fighter of all time%3F  The Kilrathi Salthi%2C hands down.
