Do you think that the two are compatible%3F  Could a Lambda Driver achieve phase-space neutralization with an AT Field because they%27re one and the same%3F%0D%0A%0D%0AI believe so%2C since the two behave in remarkably similar ways. Not they needed help in making good armor%2C just in making it work for a normal human %28Mjolnir gets reworked into Athenian for the ODSTs%29.  %0D%0A%0D%0AAfter acquiring the strange nanotechnology that is used to build the Sonic Drivers used by the %5Blink%3Aen.wikipedia.org%2Fwiki%2FSky_Girls%7CSkygirls%5D%2C several test-types of small mecha are built based on the two technology sets and eventually become known as Exo-Frames%2C or E-Frames.  My character%2C CPO Ezekiel Darkwood%2C not only functions as a test pilot%2C but also as a liaison and %27field mentor%27 to the young Sonic Driver pilots.%0D%0A%0D%0ALater on%2C the Lambda Driver technology is acquired from MYTHRIL.  At first%2C it is seen as a wonder-system that can easily serve both offensive and defensive capabilities.  As always%2C though%2C what looks good on paper doesn%27t always work out in real life.  The Lambda Driver proves to be a temperamental system that only works with pilots who have a highly vivid imagination%2C so to speak.  CPO Darkwood is one of the few pilots in the program who had any real success using the Lambda Driver.%0D%0A%0D%0AEventually%2C they encounter NERV and the Angels.  Seeing which way the wind is blowing%2C Captain Miranda Keyes and Dr. Catherine Halsey use their administrative pull to assign CPO Darkwood his original test-type E-Frame%2C which was built on an entirely modular chassis%2C and have it equipped with a Lambda Driver.  His role here is%2C more or less%2C the same as it was when he was assigned to the Skygirls unit.%0D%0A%0D%0AThe problems are immediately evident%2C though.  Darkwood%27s Lambda Driver does not produce a %27strong%27 enough effect to achieve an effective phase-space neutralization against an Angel%27s AT Field.  However%2C his onboard AI%2C Aki%2C can utilize a real-time data-feed from the MAGI to find potential weak-spots in any given Angel%27s AT Field%2C thus allowing Darkwood to fulfill a roll in diversionary tactics %28AKA irritating the hell outta that sucker%29.  Such tactics were instrumental in the defeat of the Fourth Angel%2C Ramiel.%0D%0A%0D%0AAnother option that becomes viable in close-combat situations is to have Darkwood %27ride%27 through the Angel%27s phase-space on one of the Evangelion units.  Although%2C in some cases%2C Darkwood in his E-Frame alone is able to save an entire mission.  For example%2C his smaller size made it near impossible for the Thirteenth Angel%2C Bardiel%2C to attack him directly.  He was able to successfully rescue Toji Suzuhara and even recover Eva Unit 03. Characters have motivations. Societies have rules. Widgets have physics.
