When I look at some of my work%2C specifically the Vanished Knights%2C I can%27t help but to think %22Who am I to present these feelings that I have never experienced%3F%22 How does one feel the anguish of losing a loved one%3F Of dealing with hatred simply because of your ethnic background%3F Of having lost the feeling of security%3F Things like this remind me that I%27m only twenty-one years old%2C and while I learned at a very young age that life is not all happiness%2C I still have a lot to learn and experience. Sometimes I%27m tempted to throw my work in a box and say%2C I%27ll restart them when I get older.%0D%0A%0D%0A%0D%0A%0D%0A%0D%0A%0D%0AFeel free to tell me to shut up.

It%27s especially present in the case of speculative fiction%2C since by its very nature it involves dealing with circumstances%2C situations%2C peoples and technologies that the author simply cannot have first-hand experience with - nor%2C in some cases%2C even research material to draw from.%0D%0A%0D%0AAt some point%2C you just have to shrug and go with your instinct - what do you %5Bi%5Dthink%5B%2Fi%5D it%27s like%3F  How does it make you feel to consider it%3F  It%27s the same mechanism as one uses to present things from the viewpoint of any character other than a first-person non-fictional narrator%3B using one%27s imagination is integral to being a writer of fiction in the first place. One was the constant insults and racial comments made to some of my friends  in high school %28that%27s what happens in Florida%29. If you don%27t know something you can skip the hassle of libraries%2C book stores%2C etc. and hit %5Blink%3Awww.google.com%7CGoogle%5D to look it up.  If you want to interview someone you don%27t have to physically seek them out%2C just email them or maybe they have an online journal.  A little effort can make up for both a very dull life %28as I have found%29 and not having %5Blink%3Awww.wired.com%7CWIRED%5D fund your trip around the globe following telecomm companies.%0D%0A%0D%0AAgain%2C to parrot%2Fpirate Gryphon%2C it often ultimately comes down to going with your gut%2C but remember that fictions are by-and-large expressions and interpretations on a subject.
