He%27s been a Marine since he got out of high school 12%2C 15 years ago%2C and I%27ve gathered from this his mother %28my aunt Sue%29 has said over the years that he%27s been deployed to both of Mr. Bush%27s playgrounds repeatedly.  What I didn%27t realize was that he%27s changed jobs.  He used to be with one of those badass special infantry outfits %28Force Recon%2C maybe%2C I%27m not sure%29%2C and it appears he%27s done well enough at that to get a whole shiny new job.  He%27s -Captain- my cousin Mike now%2C if you please%2C and he%27s - the coincidence here really tickles me - a C-130 Hercules pilot.%0D%0A%0D%0ASue wasn%27t really sure what in particular he does in that capacity - she%27s just pleased his job isn%27t to go out and be personally shot at any more%2C though obviously he is still in harm%27s way%2C as the saying goes - but based on some things she mentioned%2C a little parsing of his email address%2C and some snouting around online%2C it appears he%27s flying one of the USMC%27s new %5Blink%3Awww.marinecorpstimes.com%2Fnews%2F2010%2F05%2Fmarine_tankers_050810w%2F%7Carmed refueling tankers%5D.  Which is a very Marine Corps sort of thing%2C isn%27t it%3F  Developing one platform that can deliver the groceries %5Bi%5Dand%5B%2Fi%5D kick bad guy ass %5Bi%5Dat the same time%5B%2Fi%5D.  Any other outfit would have two different pieces of equipment %28and two different crews%29 to do that%2C but not the Marines. %3A%29%0D%0A%0D%0AAnyway%2C uh... go Cousin Mike%21  It%27s a little jarring to envision%2C since my mental image of Mike is always about eight years old.  I mean%2C the last time I saw him was five or six years ago%2C and he was the total badass Captain America package then%2C too%2C but my default image remains the little kid.
