Specifically%2C I need photos that gives me a good idea of what the Wedge%2C DAKA%2C and Morgan and Daniels halls look like %28M%26D as viewed from the quad would be enough...%29%0D%0A%0D%0AAnything that would give me a better idea of the visuall apperance of these areas would be greatly appreciated.%0D%0A%0D%0AAnd no%2C Gryph%2C it IS UF related%2C but not in a fan-fiction sort of way.  Its a long story... My freshman year%2C which makes my class the last class to know of The Wedge as it originally existed%2C with the benches and such. Alas.%0D%0A%0D%0AThe benches -%3E modular furniture conversion was a completely daft idea%2C in any event. The main thing being that %22modular%2C%22 at least on this campus%2C is really a euphemism for %22stealable.%22 It was especially bad during the C-D %2796 terms%2C when the stuff was all shiny and new. Up it all went into Morgan and Daniels Halls. There were maybe a couple of pieces left%2C which the Administration decided to start locking in the Lower Wedge nightly. It was a great big nightmare and eventually most of the stuff came back because a sweep of the rooms was threatened%2C combined with the fact that each chair%2C couch%2C and table cost more than some number which I forget%2C so it counted as felony theft and the school said they would press charges on anyone who was found%2C during the search%2C to have any of the stuff.%0D%0A%0D%0AWhich doesn%27t stop things like a couple of years ago%2C when a few unknown Morganites took all the tables from the Wedge%2C brought them up to the third or fourth floor lounge of Morgan Hall%2C and pitched them out the window. This is not an uncommon pasttime on the upper floors of Morgan%2C with other things like VT terminals and toilets ripped out of the bathroom having been known to have been thrown out in the past. However%2C this was worse because the school %5Bi%5Drefused%5B%2Fi%5D to replace the tables until after another year had come and gone without tables. Given that the Campus Center wasn%27t open yet and people still gathered in the Wedge to get food and eat and other such social activities%2C this sucked profusely.%0D%0A%0D%0A%3EMakes one wonder if the Admin isn%27t ashamed of the Wedge or something.%0D%0A%0D%0AHorribly ashamed and embarrassed%2C though they never actually say so or anything. It%27s expected that once the Campus Center%27s finally settled into place as The Place To Go %28not too much longer%2C I figure%3B I myself refer to the main lounge in the Center as The New Wedge at this point%29%2C they%27ll shut the place down and renovate it into offices of one type or another%2C much as they%27ve done to the old SGA office%2C mail room%2C and offices of Student Life and Student Activities%2C all of which got moved to the Campus Center. Damn shame%2C though. It%27s too bad that no one%27s likely to ever get around the the old idea of figuring out the dimensions for the old benches and making quick-assemble new ones to get installed in the old Wedge in time for 1 April.%0D%0A%0D%0ASlarti%0D%0ANot as 01ds%7C%3C00l as jer%2C but getting 0ld3r all the time...
