For an entire decade%2C that%27s not %0D%0A%3Every promising. %0D%0A%3E%0D%0A%3E%0D%0A%3EStar Trek VI %0D%0A%3EGalaxy Quest %0D%0A%3EForrest Gump %0D%0A%3EHeat %0D%0A%3EReservoir Dogs %0D%0A%3EFalling Down %0D%0A%3EThe Truman Show %0D%0A%3EWag the Dog %0D%0A%3EThe Matrix %0D%0A%0D%0AOK%2C I%27ll hold my hand up and admit I forgot about %5Bi%5DGalaxy Quest%5B%2Fi%5D%2C and for some reason kept thinking %5Bi%5DStar Trek VI%5B%2Fi%5D came out two years before it did %28which is nonsense%2C because I went to it while I was at WPI%29 and %5Bi%5DThe Matrix%5B%2Fi%5D two years after. I haven%27t seen most of the others %28although%2C having seen %5Bi%5Da%5B%2Fi%5D Quentin Tarantino movie%2C I believe I can with some justification claim to have seen %5Bi%5Dall%5B%2Fi%5D Quentin Tarantino movies %3A%29.%0D%0A%0D%0AI also have to admit I liked two of the three Bond films of that decade %28%5Bi%5DGoldenEye%5B%2Fi%5D%2C 1995%2C and %5Bi%5DTomorrow Never Dies%5B%2Fi%5D%2C 1997%29%2C but with the caveat that I%27m not at all sure I would enjoy them if I saw them now. Probably the latter%2C at least in spots%2C because it has Desmond Llewelyn%27s next-to-last turn as Q and a hilarious performance by the late%2C lamented Vincent Schiavelli as Dr. Kaufman%2C a minor character who made such an impression that I actually remember his name all this time later.%0D%0A%0D%0AAlso%3A %5Bi%5DDown Periscope%5B%2Fi%5D %281996%29 and the original %5Bi%5DMen in Black%5B%2Fi%5D %281997%29%2C both featuring the great Rip Torn%2C %5Bb%5Dbut not%5B%2Fb%5D %5Bi%5DRoboCop 3%5B%2Fi%5D %281993%29%2A%2C also featuring the great Rip Torn. %3A%29%0D%0A%0D%0ASo%2C OK%2C I may have judged the decade too harshly for the sake of a low-hanging punch line. On the other hand%2C even most of the films I remember liking from that period%2C I%27m not even claiming are actually good%2C I just like them. %3A%29%0D%0A%0D%0A--G.%0D%0A%5Bfont size%3D%221%22%5D%2A Although %5Bi%5DRoboCop 3%5B%2Fi%5D does contain the funniest throw-away gag in the whole franchise - %22What%27s it like being a rocket scientist%3F%22 - that is so%2C so far from enough to save it. %3A%29%5B%2Ffont%5D%0D%0A-%3E%3C-%0D%0ABenjamin D.
