0|0|0|||1||Tech support rant|remande||14:34:56|04/04/2002|As proud parents of a two-year-old with a fanhood of Elmo borders on her dad%27s fanhood of Def Leppard %28fabled in story%2C if not in song%29%2C we decided to purchase the %22Elmo%27s Computer Phone%22.  This is a neat telephone-like-thing with pictures of muppets%2C colors%2C and other objects replacing the number%2C hash%2C and star keys.  It plugs into your entire sound card %28the buttons actually read as MIDI inputs%29%2C and it comes with a software package that allows a child using the phone to interact with Elmo and his friends on the screen.%0D%0A%0D%0AAs far as we can tell%2C the phone hardware works.  The software simply doesn%27t.  During installation%2C it crashes the NT box we%27re installing it on.%0D%0A%0D%0AAfter finding their site %28I don%27t remember what it is now%3B it%27s an obscure company called Comfy Movies based in Israel%29%2C I found that Netscape simply will not load the page.  You have to use IE.  Aren%27t the Browser Wars over yet%3F%0D%0A%0D%0AWell%2C they don%27t offer tech support directly.  Grumble.  Instead%2C they refer you to another site from another company%2C that apparently is exclusively a tech-support outsider.  Okay%2C fine.%0D%0A%0D%0AI go to their site%2C navigate through it%2C and find I have two options.  I can request support via e-mail%2C or I can call them.%0D%0A%0D%0ALet me be clearer on this point.
