You can probably guess this didn%27t end well already%2C but here comes the rant.%0D%0A%0D%0AThe very first thing he asks is if I%27ve been using the compression stockings as directed.  I tell him%2C honestly%2C no - I %5Bi%5Dcan%27t%5B%2Fi%5D%2C because I can%27t get the damn things on by myself and I have no assistance %28this is%2C in all particulars%2C true%29.  Fine.  He suggests the velcro kind.  Why he didn%27t suggest these to start with%2C I do not know.  Possibly because they cost twice as much.  Which%2C yeah%2C that%27s definitely an issue%2C because I don%27t %5Bi%5Dhave%5B%2Fi%5D %24140.  But I didn%27t have the %2460 for the first set%2C either%2C so now I%27m about to be out %24200 for specialized medical equipment I really cannot afford.%0D%0A%0D%0AApparently%2C he knew I wasn%27t going to wear the first set%2C because I told him I wouldn%27t the last time.  %28I said no such a damn thing%2C just for the record.%29  He then goes on a spiel about how I need to start doing %27pushbacks%27 %28no points for guessing what that means%29.  I try to tell him I eat %5Bi%5Dmaybe%5B%2Fi%5D once a day%2C because I%27m on a shoestring budget - he pays this absolutely no mind%2C because I%27m a large person and obviously that means I eat too damn much.  Actually%2C he doesn%27t pay any attention to %5Bi%5Danything%5B%2Fi%5D I say%2C because I don%27t know what the hell I%27m talking about.  Apparently I%27m the village idiot%2C too stupid to know I%27m dying by inches.  And to cap it off%2C he informs me that if I don%27t comply with his demands by the next visit%2C I%27m going to have to find another doctor.%0D%0A%0D%0ATo put some perspective on this%3A  I cannot drive.  I do not own a vehicle%2C I do not have a license%2C and I am %5Bi%5Dterrified%5B%2Fi%5D of driving in even light traffic.  My father has cancer%2C and has had lesions removed pretty much once a month for the past six.  On top of that%2C he has interstitial lung disease%2C which has reduced his lung capacity to something like 30%25.  In other words%2C he can%27t make the necessary drive %28halfway across the state%29.  My mother has three herniated disks%2C degenerating vertebrae%2C and cataracts - she can%27t make that drive either.  My brothers all work out of state - no help there.%0D%0A%0D%0AOn top of this%2C my computer decided to give up the ghost about a week ago.  The fan is completely shot%2C and in trying to disassemble the laptop%27s case to get at it%2C I discovered that it%27s wedged together in such a way that getting to that fan will effectively require me to break the mobo in half.  I can get a replacement system %28refurb%29 for about %24250.  Either this or the stockings%2C by themselves%2C would not be completely insurmountable obstacles.  Both of them together%3F  I... may be sitting here trying to force myself not to rock back and forth%2C laughing the scary crazy laugh%2C sobbing%2C and%2For gibbering.  Combine that with the deep rage I have toward that doctor%2C and you might begin to form a theory that this has not been the most pleasant of days%2Fweeks%2Fmonths for me.%0D%0A%0D%0AYou%27d be right.  I%27m kinda going nuts here trying to figure out how to balance all these plates%2C and they%27re all off-center.

At the very least this one%27s got a profound communication problem with you.%0D%0A%0D%0AIn more practical advice%3A you might want to ask around %28possibly start with your regular doctor%27s office staff%2C they usually know these things%29 to find out if there are medical mobility services available in your area.  These are usually run by quasi-government %22community action%22 agencies. They can%27t take me the couple hundred miles I%27d need to travel to get to the other vein clinic.  The %5Bi%5Djoys%5B%2Fi%5D of living in a really small%2C really rural area in the absolute arse end of beyond.%0D%0A%0D%0AAll that aside%2C the tiny Ikazuchi at least gave me a smile%2C which is better than 98%25 of the rest of this day has managed.
