Which is good because the system is about due for one %28it%27s been four years since its last upgrade%29.  Unfortunately%2C upgrading the motherboard in a working system is a major pain since all the devices%27 addresses change%2C and if I don%27t prepare sufficiently%2C I%27ll be swamped with device conflicts.  My choices are to either backup data and flatline my C drive or delete the ENUM key from my registry and trust to fate.  If I do the first%2C I%27ll probably have to reinstall every piece of software on my computer since all the pointers%2C .dlls%2C and registry entries will be gone.  But the upgrade will be a snap.  If I choose the latter%2C I%27ll leave it up to the system to redetect and reinstall every single solitary device and hardware component from my PCI bus to my %28non-functional but present nonetheless%29 webcam%2C and there%27s no guarantee that something won%27t screw the process up halfway through.  But then my data and programs will all be intact%2C and I don%27t have to wade through reinstallation processes.
