I liked the one I had in December so much I decided to have it again.%29  As I think I have previously mentioned%2C here in Maine for the last few years%2C the state Department of Health and Human Services requires medical providers to ask various irrelevant-seeming personal questions of patients during the preliminary workup phase.  They don%27t run down the whole list at once any more like they used to%3B now it%27s like they get a random selection of two or three they have to drop into the usual data set they always collect %28what meds you%27re on%2C etc%29.%0D%0A%0D%0AIn the past%2C I%27ve been asked such gems as %22do you feel safe at home%3F%22%2C %22do you chew tobacco%3F%22 %28this was in the middle of the %5Bi%5Dbilling%5B%2Fi%5D questions with the %5Bi%5Dreceptionist%5B%2Fi%5D%2C not even when I was talking to the nurse%29%2C and %22have you been to West Africa in the last six months%2C or had sex with anyone who had been to West Africa within the six months before you banged%3F%22  %28I may have rephrased that last one slightly.%29%0D%0A%0D%0AThis time%2C the One of These Things Is Not Like the Others question%2C asked in between the meds list and whether I smoke%2C was%2C %22At any point in the last six months%2C have you worried that there might not be enough food%3F%22%0D%0A%0D%0A%22Oh%2C absolutely%2C%22 I said.  %22I worry about that a lot%2C actually.
