OEM is Hynix. Undo one screw%2C pop the door open%2C hey presto%2C there%27s the RAM.  Replacing the keyboard was dead easy%2C too%2C because it was a modular part that came off from the top.  By comparison%2C the Legion 5 doesn%27t even have a detachable battery.%0D%0A%0D%0AI grant you that ThinkPad and Legion are separate product lines with different specializations these days %28ThinkPads are for Business and Legions are for Gaming%2C apparently%2C because nobody ever does both things with one computer%3F%29%2C but even that distinction is a little weird%2C because who is stereotypically more likely to want to work on their own computers%3A business people or gamers%3F I%27m thinking not business people.%0D%0A%0D%0A--G.%0D%0A-%3E%3C-%0D%0ABenjamin D. Which means instead of taking the back cover off and slotting the ram in... you have to go in from back and remove some screws%2C then remove the keyboard and remove some screws%2C then remove some ribbon cables%2C then take off the plate below the keyboard%2C and then you can put your extra ram in place%2C and do everything in reverse. 1.5 to 2 hours worth of work which should take 15 minutes max. %0D%0A%0D%0AThey really don%27t like techs working on their shit anymore. %0D%0A%0D%0ADaemeonX
