[designed by Benjamin D. Hutchins]Interior - an elevator
The elevator car is mostly in darkness; only a rhythmic sweeping light shows that the car is going up. The light indistinctly illuminates two figures, one a stocky man, the other slightly shorter woman in a hooded cloak.
With a metallic scrape, the man draws a sword from a scabbard strapped to his back. The blade glints blue in the dim light.

RAVEN
(VO)
I will show you something different from either
Your shadow at morning striding behind you
Or your shadow at evening rising to meet you:
I will show you fear in a handful of dust.
Interior - a food court
The place is wrecked, with overturned tables and broken fixtures. There are a few dead civilians, security guards and International Police bluesuiters scattered around. In the middle of the room, Covenant troops are setting up a large piece of equipment, its purpose not immediately apparent.
ELEVATOR - SFX
Ding!
As the Covenant turn to look, the doors open... but there's no one in the car. Two of the Elites look at each other quizzically.
ELITE
Wurt?
/* Chris Cornell
"You Know My Name"
Carry On (2007) */
The Grunts nearest the elevator are cut down as the flickering, indistinct forms of Gryphon and Kaitlyn instantly take the offensive. Rallied by the Elites, the Covenant try to mount a counterattack.
If you take a life, do you know what you give?
Odds are you won't like what it is
Exterior - downtown New Avalon - day
Raven and Cassandra Cain are at a sidewalk café in Claremont. They glance up in puzzlement as the sky begins to darken in midday, then give each other "I don't like this" looks.
When the storm arrives, would you be seen with me
By the merciless eyes I've deceived?
Exterior - urban twilight
Backlit by a blood-red sunset, Gryphon leaps from the observation deck of a very tall building, sword in hand.
I've seen angels fall from blinding heights
But you yourself are nothing so divine
Just next in line
As Gryphon falls, he begins to trail a comet's tail of blue-white sparks. Cut to
MONTAGE. Images of Covenant tanks in the streets of New Avalon, the panzer police and ACROSS deploying to engage them, while various Titans and Experts of Justice take on their commanders.
Arm yourself because no one else here will save you
The odds will betray you
And I will replace you
Interior - Babylon 6 command deck
Derek Bacon, Susan Ivanova, and Michael Garibaldi watch an unfolding tactical plot (of which we only get a glimpse) in the main holotank while "Bruce" Corwin and various IPO bluesuiters attend briskly to tasks in the background.
GARIBALDI
They can't hold. There's just too many of 'em.
Derek nods but says nothing, his gaze fixed on the display.
You can't deny the prize, it may never fulfill you
It longs to kill you
Are you willing to die?
Interior - Babylon 6 IPO staging area
Gryphon and Shin Hayata are bent over a planning table, studying a different map.
HAYATA
(shaking head)
It's very risky. I can't say I like it.
GRYPHON
Neither do I, but we don't have a choice. If we lose Cybertron, we're done.
Hayata nods.
HAYATA
You're right.
The coldest blood runs through my veins
You know my name
Interior - a book-lined study with crackling fireplace
A group of heavily armed and armored Nazis force their way into the room, confronting its lone occupant with weapons drawn. Their leader, a square-jawed blond specimen with what appear to be mystic wards on his armor, steps forward.
NAZI LEADER
The ruby. I have come for it. You will give it to me now.
If you come inside, things will not be the same
When you return to the night
Sitting in his armchair, Jason Blood regards the Nazi expressionlessly, the firelight reflecting from his eyes. Then he smiles sardonically. Cut to
Exterior - urban twilight
Gryphon is still falling past the windowed façade of a very tall building; the nimbus of sparks surrounding him is so intense now that he can barely be seen within it.
And if you think you've won, you never saw me change
The game that we have been playing
Interior - a metallic room
A dark figure whose silhouette bears an eerie resemblance to Optimus Prime's stands over Shockwave, who kneels with his wrists energy-shackled behind his back, various dents and cracks marring his grey-black armor.
DARK FIGURE
I admire your commitment to logic and reason, Shockwave. Most Decepticon leaders would have kept fighting, needlessly sacrificing 'bots in a futile attempt to stop me. But not you. You see the hopelessness of your position and surrender. Peacefully. Quietly. Without incident.
SHOCKWAVE
(without inflection)
No.
There's a distinct clunk from within Shockwave's body, and then a hair-raising ascending whine as the crystalline panel on his chest starts glowing ever more brilliantly, as does his single optic. Showing clear shock in his body language, the dark figure backs away a step.
SHOCKWAVE
(still uninflected)
Not without incident.
With the sound of metal fracturing, cut to
MONTAGE: More scenes of conflict, some urban, some in indoor places with metallic corridors. One of the key sequences to which we return repeatedly is Tuncer in full-on hand-to-hand combat with an Elite of the Legion of Purity.
Exterior - New Avalon street - day
Amid the wreckage of parked cars and police vehicles, Kara Zor-El struggles to rise from her current position in a crumpled heap on the ground. She's visibly bruised and bleeding from the corner of her mouth. A pair of boots steps into the shot from the right and stops, their wearer standing over her.
I've seen this diamond cut through harder men
Than you yourself, but if you must pretend
You may meet your end
MAN'S VOICE
Now, niece of Jor-El...
Pan up: The speaker is revealed to be General Zod, dressed in old-fashioned white Kryptonian robes. He has what appears to be a chunk of kryptonite hanging from a chain around his neck, but it doesn't seem to be bothering him.
ZOD
... it is time for you to kneel before Zod.
Arm yourself because no one else here will save you
The odds will betray you
And I will replace you
Kara pushes herself up on one hip, then to one knee, head bowed, fists on the ground... but only because that's the next logical position between "prone" and "delivering the biggest two-fisted hammer-throw punch to the face anyone's thrown since Optimus Prime at the end of the Battle of Autobot City". Zod is hurled clear down the street and demolishes a SphereBank branch. By the time he's extricated himself and flung himself back down the street, Kara has gotten to her feet and assumed a martial arts ready stance. The approach of the kryptonite clearly bothers her, but she's just as clearly not acknowledging it.
KARA
I don't think so.
You can't deny the prize, it may never fulfill you
It longs to kill you
Are you willing to die?
The coldest blood runs through my veins
They fight. Wipe to
Exterior - high above New Avalon - day
A petite female figure in red and black Mandalorian armor, fitted with a full-function flight pack, leads a squadron of rocket cops against considerably more numerous Nazi Raketensoldaten.
Exterior - urban twilight
Gryphon is still falling, and seems to be accelerating. He's now completely invisible within his corona of blue-white light.
SKULD
(flashback VO)
The first Lens I made, I made with love for you in my heart...
Interior - a metal corridor
A squad of Babylon 6 security officers, led by an ascetic-looking Japanese man, Gen Ôtori, confronts Vorlon Ambassador Ulkesh.
ÔTORI
I hope you weren't intending to leave us so hastily, Ambassador.
Ulkesh draws back slightly, his encounter suit's single optic beginning to glow more brightly.
ULKESH
(affronted)
Impudent!
Ôtori gestures his men back, then strikes a martial-arts pose, thrusting his left fist forward so that the lion-headed golden ring he wears is prominently displayed.
ÔTORI
LEOOOOOOOOO!
Light flashes from the lion ring's ruby eyes, filling the screen. Cut to
Exterior - Knights Field - day
Try to hide your hand, forget how to feel
(Forget how to feel)
Walter Johnson clobbers a Nazi with a bat, then glances back over his shoulder at Hellboy, who punches another one. Plenty more can be seen jockeying for position around them.
JOHNSON
Don't these jerks ever quit?
HELLBOY
Not so's you would notice.
Life is gone with just a spin of the wheel
(Spin of the wheel)
Interior - someplace mostly stone
Kaitlyn, dressed as she was in Requiem for a Lensman, cuts down a Nazi Sturmschwertfechter, parries two attacks by another one, pivots away from a third who thought to attack her from behind, reverses her sword, and runs him through without looking at him, then pulls the blade out again and intercepts a third attempt from the one still standing.
Exterior - urban twilight
Arm yourself because no one else here will save you
The odds will betray you
And I will replace you
Gryphon, entirely obscured by the streaming white sparks, reaches the street, where a huge mob of Covenant and Eisensturm troopers awaits him. He hits like an artillery shell, cracking the street, and a shockwave of the same blue-white energy explodes outward from the point of impact and scatters the bad guys for a radius of about 40 feet.
At the center of the web of cracks radiating out across the pavement he stands, knees bent, katana cocked to the side in his left hand. His right hand is closed in a fist in front of his chest. He's surrounded by lines and planes of light, some of them bearing the fleeting semblance of impossibly complex mechanical workings and circuitry, and the Lens on his right forearm is glowing like a searchlight.
SKULD
(flashback VO)
... and so you shall be the First Lensman.
The light congeals around him, hardening into mirror-finished metal, and just before his face is obscured by the reflective blackness of his Griffin helmet's facebowl, he smiles.
You can't deny the prize, it may never fulfill you
It longs to kill you
Are you willing to die?

MONTAGE: Beginning with quick impressions of Gryphon fighting in the street in front of what's now recognizable as the Entire State Building, we revisit most of the previously shown battles and toss in a few more for good measure, including at least one almost subliminal shot of a tripedal Martian fighting-machine dueling, Heat-Ray vs. Feuerkanone, with a Nazi walking tank on the waterfront, and another of Nikola Tesla pitting his Electro-Gauntlets against the fire-shrouded fists of a scar-faced blond man in a Nazi officer's uniform.
You know my name

Exterior - outdoor location - night
A blindingly bright bolt of yellow light plunges from the night sky and strikes the ground with the suddenness and explosive sound of lightning, but for the beam's color and straightness. In its wake, as the echoes of its thunder reverberate into the distance, the silhouette of a slender figure in a bulky jacket can just be made out against the dark.
You know my name

With a noise not unlike a lightsaber igniting, a bright yellow light springs into existence about five feet off the ground, illuminating the flare-goggled face of Kei Morgan.

I can't leave you guys alone for a minute.
