Take it one step further and you're there: Utena told the rest of Table 11 the name of the guy who attacked her the week before Christmas break, and that he was a former schoolmate of hers, at her previous school. Therefore, when he reappears and shows signs of extreme disorientation, that's the book he needs as well.

Between that and Saionji's, er, debriefing, Azalynn "today" knows almost as much about the situation as Kaitlyn - not quite as much, since there are things that neither Saionji nor Miki knows and that Azalynn can't divine for herself, but almost. Even some of those, Azalynn could make decently-rooted speculations about if she had just a little more information, based on the evidence of her six regular senses.
