There are a number of curious artifacts of the transfictional recreation of the unierse floating around; this is one of them. It's best not to think about them too closely. Scientists have occasionally tried to reconcile them, in order to try and disprove the (to many scientists ludicrous) notion that the universe was transfictionally retromodified. Most of them go insane.
