My problem with this sort of thing is I'm a bit of a tech nut. I hit that section and couldn't stop from asking,
"How far away was the ship?"
"Exactly how long did it take to get from point A to B"

Gryphon has already said he's icorperating tech from a favorite series, "Lensman" and with several of the core UF crew already bearing Lens' this seems to be a done deal. Though I do wonder about the conventions that's being used to incorperate the basic precepts that go along with the Lens in the Lensman series.
