This strikes me as the kind of thing G & co. would do, just because it's the Right Thing™... Of course, it also strikes me as highly likely that they'd be willing to pay a reasonable price for the property plus a decent overage for the costs of moving plus the fact that you'd have to give up your house, and if told to bugger off would find an alternate plan anyway, but still - can't guarantee that whoever is in office running the place will always behave themself...
