I was planning to start recording Project Phoenix #3 today, but instead I spent the afternoon having an emergency tooth extraction, so, uh, that's gonna have to wait a bit.

When I do get back to it, I will tell you right now that I won't be attempting Rose's on-screen accent. :)

Well, it's not so much that - that went away within an hour or so - as moving my face hurts. It wasn't an easy extraction; the tooth was so rotten the upper bit snapped off, so Dr. Libby had to go in after the roots individually. As a result, the neighborhood is a bit sore now.

You have my sympathies. I fear something like that happening.

We're overdue to the dentist here in part because someone <glares at the SO> forgot to check and see if the job offered Dental Care. My response when I found we have neither dental nor medical for the last six months is unprintable.

Apparently we do have medical care. But like so many other things that are FUBAR, the employer (a institution whose purpose is to study health) doesn't believe in Dental care for its minions. I've been patient, but if this isn't resolved in the next week, I'm going out of pocket.

Go out of pocket.

A cleaning should run under a hundred. I let my mouth go for ~6 years cause I didn't have insurance. Ended up paying 2000 in fillings, xrays, and cleanings after I finally got insurance. Dental insurance, as my doc explains, only covers a tiny fraction of the cost. And if you go over that limit (mine is 2 routine cleanings and 1 filling per year) it's all out of pocket anyway.

Well, at least I went and found out I was 6 months from a root canal.

O_o

Those are pricey.
