>Wow, yet another fine installment. In no particular order...

>Hmm, full credit listing. "The Sympony Will Return." But nothing
>specific. This feels like the end of this story arc (after all, a lot
>of stuff has been tied up with this), but there's still the whole
>Cephiro/Akio Ohtori/etc. thing to deal with. Which, I guess, is the
>next story arc.

Among other things, I'd wager. Like maybe finding out what the New Avalon HS system is like... can't imagine that the Duelist crowd would be terribly interested in returning to WPI after that whole debacle.

>Hehe. "Spock's Brain." Er, "SpoQ's Brain."

Argh! That Damn Episode! I'll see you burn in the fires of Hell, Gryphon!

Well, okay, not really. But that was dirty pool, throwing that at us like you did. ;)

>Devlin's a P12? Cool. I know that's strong, but not really knowing
>B5, I don't know just how strong.

If I remember correctly, P12 is about Psi Cop level, anything much higher doesn't come without serious mental problems (and/or Corps eugenics and drug programs).

>I knew I read the hunting through a building, looking for someone and
>shooting at a cat thing before, and that it was in a comic (I could
>see it in my head); didn't remember it was TDKR until the "apologies
>Frank Miller" credit.)

<cheapplug>Remember to buy The Dark Knight Strikes Back. Genius comic-book writers gotta eat too, y'know. </cheapplug>

>Hee, neat. Truss has Star Wars accessories, too.

What I wanna know is, does the action figure come with the battle-droids too? ;)

>Ahh, Kaitlyn's a master now. Cool.

And we didn't get to see the party! :P :)

>Ivanova in Starfleet? ...Wow.

What's even scarier: Ivanova and Kira on the same station.

Another thing, does Jer offer rabbits to everybody he encounters out here in the real world? Just curious.

>Tremayne will be back, methinks. Somehow, he'll be back.

Of course he'll be back! One does not set up such a towering Ahab-like obsession and then just drop it like it was a useless subplot. We probably won't see him for another couple of Movements, but he'll be back.

(Tangent: I thought Tremayne's superior was awfully lenient, letting him sulk on the Moon like that. If I was Commandant and my subordinate had just clusterfucked a blip capture operation in such a grandiose manner, I'd dope him up on sleepers, stick him in a small cage and let the teep kids poke at him with very sharp sticks. But that's me.)

>Dorothy... I still want a Dorothy of my own.

Well, I think that one's taken. Sorry. Keep looking, though. ;)

>Liza Broadbank... I think she's gonna be changing her tune soon.

Enh, maybe. I thought her tone was a lot more pissed that Kate & Co. had screwed up her life by being so arrogant as to save Devlin from the clutches of the Corps. At most I'd expect her to lay off the torment for a while, on account of the whole "saving her from nasty situation x2" thing Kate did. I expect the senior Broadbanks will do their best to chew Gryphon^UF out for nearly getting Liza killed. That Family Ain't Right. ;)

(Tangent: So what did the Corps find so interesting about young Ms. Broadbank? They admitted it wasn't telepathic ability. My bet is either some rare from of psi (higher probability) or Force awareness (lower probability). Of course, I could be (and often am) Wrong.

>I, for one, never expected Gryph to chew out Corwin for what he did.
>There's breaking the rules, and then there's breaking the rules.

>Daggerdisc has a Reflex cannon and a fold drive, and it can go into
>hyperdrive or metaspace. Does it have a warp drive, too? Why'd he go
>into hyperdrive *then*, though, instead of just folding to B5?

My first reaction went along the lines of:

"A Reflex cannon. A fucking Reflex cannon. Where the hell do you keep all this stuff in a YT-1300 hull???"

I imagine that T'Pall was right, and the Reflex core hadn't recharged enough to power the fold drive when they burned through the defense perimeter. Even engineering legends can only do so much.

>I'm sure other things will pop up as I reread it. (And this one
>merits rereading.)

You betcha.

A few minor things of my own:

Harcourt Mudd (related or parents were just fans?) "Mac" Mackenzie is, officially, now my favorite original character in all the Eyrie canon. Just thought I'd mention that.

The connections linking Liza -> Xenia -> Devlin were all there, plain sight, most obvious path, and we all ignored it in favor of "Liza's a latent teep" or "Liza ratted on X, not Devlin" theories. Well done, Mr. Director.

G'Kron and his trusty Louisville Slugger: Well, I suppose it was inevitable...

All in all, a great way to forget about sleep this bitter November evening. Kudos to all those involved.

Mr. Fnord, wondering if Ed and Ein are wiring Durandal up to B5's mainframe even as we speak.
