By "notes" I mean working documents, summaries, or plans.I'm particularly curious about the mechanism behind Katie Tanner's "Let there be lights!" trick at the end of TUAtC III.

Well, let me also point out that their first stop is CYBERTRON. It seems pretty clear to me that Katie's rebuild included what was needed for her human body to be able to be her Fighter body as well; one assumes that the stop on Cybertron is to fit the Connie with what is needed on its side of the equation. So, the let there be lights was meant to show Temper's now built in connection to both close by electronics, and eventually her re-integration into her 'Starfighter' self when needed. While I could be wrong, I've kind of gotten good at guessing what foreshadowing is foreshadowing. Except for RL-G. His mind makes jumps that not even I can follow sometimes. Which is actually great, because there isn't anything better than getting to a foreshadowed reveal one did not guess and doing that whole facepalm 'OH! THAT MAKES SUCH SENSE NOW!!!' moment

Something like that does strike me as the most likely explanation, but it could alternatively be a mystic connection to spacecraft stemming from her experiences as one, or an inborn but newly-awoken metapsionic ability to remotely interact with electronics.
