So I decided to figure it out.

The Canon has Colossians 3:25 inscribed on the barrel: "For the wrongdoer will be paid back for the wrong he has done, and there is no partiality." When you're shooting someone with a .50 explosive bullet, it makes them not get up again. Ever.

The Jackal has no inscription, but a piece of paper in the textured part of the grip has 1 John 3:4 written on it as part of the Ignatine gun modifications. For those who don't know it, that's "Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law."

Stormwind has Norse runes on it, and Jen hasn't worked out how to read them yet, because she's still working out the theological implications of it. (Sister Destiny is of the opinion that "All great things come from God" and she should stop being a Theology Nerd about it.)

I wonder what life is like for people in UF who still believe in the catholic mono-God when it's a proven fact that the actual divinity and theological structure of the universe is Norse.

It's not "proven". The majority of Known Space doesn't know about it.

For example, Jen Dantes and the rest of the After School Squad and associates don't know. As far as they're aware, Skuld is just (!) the Chief Technologist of the IPO, not an actual goddess. And the same for Belldandy and Urd - yes, they have unusual powers and abilities, but hey, for Jen, maybe they're angels incarnated on Earth on special assignment.

(which they are - well, Bell is - and the others followed along.)

But the World In General is unaware they're living in Midgard, and that the dead go to Asgard or Niflheim or Helheim. Those that have come back generally don't tell people about it, because it's not fun breaking out of psychological containment buildings.

Well, Lain might. She knows a lot of things she's not supposed to know. :)

The real fun comes from just how much of the files she managed to snag, and how accurate her conclusions based off that are.

Given that God/Gods have been shown to wear many faces/names, I'm not sure it really matters what the "truth" of the universe is. For all we know, the Judeo-Christian single God is just a manifestation of Yggdrasil itself, and the rest of the Gods are extensions of the World Tree as well.

While I personally believe in a single God, I've had a couple experiences that make me believe said God is not internally monolithic, and has many different faces that appear to us in different situations (and don't always agree with each other!). Which leads to the above hypothesis...

This reminds me of Mike Birbiglia's improbably funny stand-up piece about his teenage brush with bladder cancer. "I'm brand loyal to Jesus, but I'm not stubborn."

Well, I mean, Destiny owns a pistol named Zulfiqar that is inscribed with quotations from the Quran, in spite of being just about the most Catholic Catholic anyone is likely to encounter in the 25th century. So maybe don't go by her. Or maybe do go by her, IDK. :)

Now I want to hear Destiny specifically say "that would be an ecumenical matter."
