I once played a cover of "Smells Like Teen Spirit" with a couple of buddies in college at a Battle of the Bands. (We also did "Cherub Rock", which actually went rather well.) The guitarist/singer could not remember the second verse for the life of him, no matter how many times he wrote it down or memorized it, so he wound up singing the verse from "Smells Like Nirvana" that goes:

And I forget the next verse
Oh well I guess it pays to rehearse
It's hard to garble nawdle zouss
With all these marbles in my mouth

(We also had a kazoo player come up to do the guitar solo with the guitarist. This was after Cobain's death, too, and we felt it was a better tribute than getting all wanky and pretentious. Oh, yeah, and I played a funk bass line.)
