>Yeah, this isn't Greek myth. ;-)

<rolls eyes> You know, I wrote that and then thought "oh no one would read that into it. Gross!"

Ah well, I was always a good straight man. For jokes! You people have the most twisted minds.....

What I meant was that mothers are traditionally very protective of their sons. And not necessarily in the Sophoclean sense. Many mothers (oh, say mine) are overwhelmingly protective of their young and jealous when those young start to stray from the nest. See, you don't have to have the mixed sex thing to have a mom who is a little jealous and unhappy when you develop friends or move out the house.

What that was supposed to tie into was the idea of Skuld, Techno-Goddess, in theory might think about her worshipers in a motherly sense. Kinda rolls with that whole "mother of god", "our father, art in heaven" concepts that tend to be tacked on deities.

But obviously if it takes me two paragraphs to explain one sentence I wasn't doing a very good job.

<sigh> I thought it was really endearing that Skuld was happy to encourage whatever is between Utena and Corwin. I only wish my family was like that. Instead I've got a family full of people like a***e t****u. <wince> Let me just say that I'm wishing Corwin all the best and that I hope Anthy will share.

Btw, let me just say that you have done the best job of describing courtship that I've ever read. Having been courted a few times, all I can say is that the emotions in the good ones were exactly like that. It reads naturally. <grin> and I esp. liked you slipped in the fact that Corwin is spending every free weekend in Worchester very, very delicately. I missed it on the first read. That too rings true. I'm amazed Corwin isn't going to pieces without her.

But back the main point. I was stomping my feet, and expressing outrage at the way Zoner and Gryphon twisted my innocuous statement that would have surely passed any censor's first read without a glitch. Hmmpf. Trust EPU to warp such innocent words.

<grin>
t.

who is rather glad the greek style drama is gone from the eyrie scene. Drama queens (which those greeks were in all senses of the phrase) get sooooo tiring.

* side note: I don't think Kevin (as portrayed) was a drama queen. His character far too cool for that.
