Yes. It's how her first duel with Utena ended - with the Sword of Dios, having been flung into the sky by a violent disarm maneuver, plummeting down and neatly nicking the rose off Juri's chest while she was busy telling (a clearly defeated but not yet roseless) Utena what a lousy swordfighter she was. Remember Utena musing that she'd never really beaten Juri, and that her first win was just plain dumb luck? Well, there you go.

Crazed otaku don't bother me much anymore. Neon Exodus Evangelion cured me of that.

As for Mia's background, I don't know about the full story - when do we ever get the full story on anything? - but there is more information that will be coming along as she gets to know the others better.

That cue's kind of tongue-in-cheek as it appears there - the concrete steps down the bank from the main campus to the football field at WPI ain't exactly the Forest of Secrets - but I'm glad I thought of putting it there, anyway.

I submit that it's not really a Rose Duel without a Rose Bride, either, but hey. :)
