*shrug* I'm not big into anime fanfic as a whole (not big into fanfic as awhole, anymore), so when someone I knew mentioned that she was running a Gundam Wing lime archive, I asked her what that was supposed to mean, and she explained the lemon/lime thing as a rating system. Different axis than yaoi/yuri/het.

Neither do I, really. If I must rate what I write, I use analogies to the MPAA rating system, and I tend to ignore genre labels beyond using "xover" (which is pretty much everything I write anyway). But it helps to be aware of what other people are doing when you're browsing through an archive and want to steer away from lemon yaoi (and, possibly, steer towards lemon yuri). While I certainly have a curmudgeonly streak, I've come to accept the shifts in definition. I guess it's not that tough for me, since I'm not really deeply involved in fanfic in any way (although I'm about to plunge neck deep into it when my current project sees the light of day).
