Just as a thought, if you need a physical focus for the centering of the holding, it's entirely possible that the Isil'Zha pin might be a good one to use. It's obviously got great meaning to her, and the ceremonial manner in which it's created is well-suited to it being a focus-object of some kind.

VERY symbolic and mystically potent, especially considering Mia's heritage.
