Actually, being as it's inside the palace, and very few people even have invitations, they probably just exempted everyone from being scanned. Kinda like how it is in the local legislation. They figure, if everyone is smart, they will understand that pulling a gun in a room filled with several hundred people with guns, and who don't want to be a statistic, is not the smartest thing to do. The only public buildings that have restrictions on carry laws are the libraries, those in Yue county, federal buildings and hospitals. Everywhere else, you can walk in with a gun. If you have a conceal permit, you can carry it concealed. Something like 83% of the state legistlation carries a fire-arm to work, everyday. It's kinda neat.
