#0, Misery in cycles and en masse
Posted by Terminus Est on Feb-13-20 at 12:27 PM
Since January seventh, I have:

Been hospitalized (three times!) by a combination of kidney stones and massive, antibiotic-resistant UTI (for a cumulative month of hospital time), the first of which I was told that, had I waited another day, I would probably be dead;

Undergone surgery three times for the aforementioned urinary issues;

Been in the midst of one of said procedures when my mother, who was ALSO under the knife for kidney issues, passed away;

Discovered that I am a diabetic, and that my sugar tends to run low (it hit 56 last night);

Been robbed blind by 'friends' of the family trying to 'help' clean the house after mom passed;

Discovered that one of my brothers, who is NOT the one I would have expected, may in fact be the worst thief of them all, stealing over $2000 from mom's account after she passed (more on this later, after I hear from my other brothers);

Been admitted to a nursing home after the aforementioned surgeries left me incapable of caring for myself in any of the available places (my brothers' homes).

Those with keen eyes will note that I nearly died twice in there - once before the initial ER visit, the second last night when I almost went into a diabetic coma.

Those with even better eyes will have noticed I mentioned my mother passing away right in the middle of it all.

It has not been a fun month.

Seconded. For all I think is horrible with my life it pales compared to what you two have gone through. *crawls off in shame*

Very much puts into perspective my three broken ribs. They suck a lot, but I'm still pretty well off. Hope things calm down, at least.
