I ran across this today, which vaguely reminded me of several threads here over the past several months - sort of the car equivalent of WECSOG

Only 3 minutes in and this video brings to mind what G had to deal with in rebuilding that Belv he was given.

"There's a buzzard flying overhead... It wants the car."

The Belv and the Trabant have certain less obvious similarities, too, such as the fact that they were really pretty advanced for their time when they appeared, but then were never, ever updated. They don't look much alike, though, different configurations. All Belvs are hatchbacks. In my head, they look sort of like what it would look like if a Trabi wagon and an original Mini had a baby.

Heheh, yeah. Robert seems like a pretty cool guy. I've been enjoying both of his channels (Aging Wheels and Under Dunn, the second channel he set up for his woodworking projects) for a little while now. I particularly enjoy the lack, apart from occasional lampshading, of YouTubery Bullshit in his presentation style. :)

Thanks for pointing out his other channel - I had managed to miss it, even though woodworking is much closer to my core interests than cars.

A space like his workshop would be really nice - approximately half a suburban two-car garage isn't big enough to do much of anything with full sheets of plywood, so I'm limited in which of my ambitions I can indulge.
