Do you mean ResMed? "Respironics" is the same thing as Philips (the division of the company that makes their ventilators is Philips Respironics).

As far as I can tell, ResMed and Philips Respironics are the two big names in that kind of device, at least in North America, and have been for years. I've seen DeVilbiss and Fisher & Paykel (the latter of which sounds like a Solaris VII booking agency) in catalogs and the like as well, but they seem to be lesser players in the market.

Speaking of which, as of today it's been a full month since I stayed up all night to register my DreamStation for the recall, and I have had precisely >zero< feedback from Philips on the matter. I suspect they're assuming that everyone affected has an insurance plan and/or DME vendor that has already hooked them up with a replacement, and so there's no particular sense of urgency about the timetable of repairs--which, since I'm completely on my own with this stuff, provides a distinct flavor of the underside of the bus.
