I keep wanting to watch Convoy, actually...I should do that.

But yeah, it does sound like it's a bit of a revisionist take, almost...though I think I'd put that more on Nanoha than Symphogear, though the violence *does* fit somewhat what you said about his style, while Nanoha's doesn't...HM!
