LAST EDITED ON Sep-03-24 AT 05:46 AM (EDT) I've recently come across a youtube channel called The Fat Electrician. His shtick is military history. He does NOT spout facts and trivia at the camera in a boring monotone in order to convey all the information. He DOES spout facts and trivia at the camera in the most over-the-top fashion I've seen. Most of the videos I've watched of his cause either: tears of laughter, hurt sides from laughter or spit-takes.Quote from the video on the 77th Infantry Division "The Old Bastards", refering to Pearl Harbor: "Japan attacks Pearl Harbor, committing the cardinal sin of fucking with America's boats. Essentially flipping the American public sentiment of 'We don't want to be involved' to 'Cowabunga it is'".

I love The Fat Electrician videos, and I think he was mentioned once before elsewhere on the forum. He's very entertaining! In particular, his video "Proportional", about Operation Praying Mantis, has been reacted to by just about everybody. It's the top response if you search for just that word, and it's hilarious. Was he? I must have missed (or forgotten) that one. Oh well, it never hurts to re-mention funny stuff just in case.

He has another channel where he applies his wit to other topics. Like supermarkets, fastfood outlets... anything that he fell down a hole while researching, as far as I can tell.

So when I pulled up his channel on YT, the algorithm's "For You" column included his (admittedly old) 2+ min video on the A-10 Warthog. And before I even clicked on it, I immediately thought of another YTer that falls in the "average guy military history" by the name of Lazerpig and his two part video absolutely savaging the A-10 from the original concept up to the present day. They're like most of his videos: Angry humor that basically shreds a lot of the myths that are commonly accepted in military history circles.
