Fans of early military aviation may be amused by this discussion of whether it might have been possible to fly a B-24 under a bridge. A bridge in a canyon, yet.(The B-24 is not the aircraft described as "gigantic" in OWaW; that was a B-36 ... but, if the figures in that post and on Wikipedia are accurate, a B-36 would also fit under this bridge. Barely.)
