LAST EDITED ON Aug-06-18 AT 11:45 PM (EDT) Fanfiction author "Chilord", aka Jonathan McCready, passed away this morning after an 11-month struggle with cancer. His works may not be terribly well-known to the community here - although I do highly recommend his one published novel - but he was a friend, and he will be remembered.

Indeed. He will be remembered fondly by myself - and by my D&D character who wore his character as a squid-hat. Best hat.

>Fanfiction author "Chilord", aka Jonathan McCready, passed away this >morning after an 11-month struggle with cancer. > I've read most of his stuff, and knew he was battling cancer from his page. He was also an active influence and plotter with other authors, and a loss to the community. Cancer sucks.

He was one of the authors that got me hooked on fanfiction. I was introduced to his works by the same friend who told me about EPU, back in 2001. I didn't know him personally, aside from the occasional comment/reply on his forums, but his personality showed through his literary works, and he will be missed. Most of his early works are gone from the internet since the site they were on died in 2012, but everything he's posted elsewhere is still available. His profiles on various sites: https://www.tthfanfic.org/AuthorStories-16597/Chilord.htm https://www.fanfiction.net/u/67673/Chilord https://archiveofourown.org/users/Chilord https://www.tapatalk.com/groups/fanfictionfederation/chilord-39-s-desk-f51/ The Fanfiction Federation forums, where he was most active in the past few years.
