HI, I'm Elaine. I've been lurking around the forums for a couple months now, so maybe i should do an introduction. I go to school at WPI where I am majoring in mechanical engineering. I only have one more year left there (hopefully). I've made my way through all of UF Core, Golden Age, and Exile and I am currently working on getting though Future Imperfect. Hmm what else.... oh yah, I'm Zoner's girlfriend :)

... you do realize that the opposite effect is, statistically, much more likely.

A man can dream, can't he? Anyway, I really wouldn't know because I didn't get into fanfiction (ans subsequently writing my own stuff) untill after I'd met my GF.

Nice to see another WPIan on here, especially one who has a connection with the original trio behind UF.
(Gods, I remember my times at WPI... in the Wedge... before scarpering for the idyllic surroundings of Amherst...)

Ahh the wedge, they took it away on my birthday freshman year (actually that's when the campus center opened, but no one hangs out in the wedge anymore)

I've been in the new campus center once, as a meeting place to meet up with ReRob and family. Doesn't look too bad, but it didn't have the personality that the old Wedge had...

It attracts everyone though because it's the center of campus, and it has all of the stuff that the wedge use to have (food, mailboxes, book store, etc.) plus wireless internet. Now that NetOps took over the lower wedge, the wedge also has wireless, but that's a new addition as of a couple months ago. The furniture doesn't disappear from the campus center either like it did in the wedge because the chairs are made to not fit through the main doors and the tables are heavy enough to be annoying to steal. You can still find people gaming in the wedge on friday nights though.

Bah! These modern youngsters who reminisce about what the Wedge was like before the Campus Center, when it was already gone years before then! The furniture didn't disappear from the real Wedge because it was part of the frickin' floor.

yah yah yah, and when it wasn't the daka king, it was just mini daka, and when you had gweep terminals, and when you had that sliding partition thing into the lower wedge instead of a wall, and when you had to walk up hills both ways in 5 feet of snow to class everyday. i'm sure that when you went there, it was much different for the people who went there 10 years (if it even existed then, i don't know when they built it) before you did, but it was still "the wedge". (i do however remember daka before it got bought by chartwells, morgan before it got rennovated, west st. when it was still a street and higgans before the addition)

you're just a bitter elder :)

Although Rain might not be overly opposed to the idea, he really doesn't need anything more to complicate his life.

I think I should be offended by that many question marks after that question. As if it were inconceivable.

You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means!
