LAST EDITED ON Jun-06-05 AT 03:41 PM (EDT) ::a set of softly glowing symbols appear, a precurser to a slowly unfolding geometric pattern drawing itself in faint blue white light. At the center of these arcane symbols, reality ripples, folding in on itself before tearing apart, a swirling vortex of energies which are barely caculable by human thought. Through this rift a man steps foward. He would be unimpressive, tall, glasses, more than slightly overweight except for the play of blue fire across his form:Karl. Not a very impressive name, I know. But soon.... Soon all will remeber it. ::the man turns with a swish of black duster. A glimpse is seen on the back of his coat of the mirror image of the symbols spread around him also glowing softly on his back. He steps throught the rift, which implodes behind him with an almost silent pop:: ((I Role-Play......... SERIOUSLY and possibly way too much than is healthy. Please excuse any eccentricities.)) (((Ack..... The great sorcerer make a spell check error..... oh the humiliation....))) "I have two I.S.P. left! What exactly do you want me to do, speed read it to death." LAST EDITED ON Jun-06-05 AT 10:39 PM (EDT) Congratulations! I think that's the dorkiest post anyone's ever made on my board.... with the possible exception of the one in which Phil Thorne incisively exposed the "crypto-lesbian subtext" of Symphony of the Sword. But, damn, it's really too close to call. Phil did use stage directions, but he didn't use the word "otaku" or claim to have magic powers, apart from the incredible power of Critical Analysis. Yeah. I'm still chewing on the "I Role-Play... SERIOUSLY" part. As mentioned elsewhere, is that seriously as opposed to for fun? Then again, never trust anyone who ignorantly insults himself. Here's a hint Karl: "otaku" isn't a compliment.

Wow, how did I manage to miss that thread? Ah well, it will be something amusing to read while I'm waiting for work to happen tonight. What'sIsName said: >foward. Ahhh...... You all take this completely the wrong way. Dorkiness is something to be proud of! Take for example the thousands of sweaty, overweight, completely unattractive people who show up to conventions dressed in scantily clad costumes of their favorite characters. Turn the scorn of normalacy, sanity even, and make it your creedo! Laugh as other people cringe away so that you know you are truly different! No person should be self-conscious of being called a nerd, dork, or even more derogatory comments. I do, what I do, when I do it, because life is so short as to almost be meaningless unless it is savored. Whether that be climbing mountains or dressing up as a Gundamn. And besides, my handle is "Dark_Karl". You expecting Shakespere?"I have two I.S.P. left! What exactly do you want me to do, speed read it to death." Karl, listen to your Unca Bob. You're not earning any points here. Even if you are just trying to parody the type, it's not making you any friends among the folks who run this place. My advice is to tone it down bigtime.-- Bob ------------------- Then the horns kicked in... And my shoes started to squeak.
