Greetings and salutations, varied folk!

I've actually been an avid lurker for quite some time now...never got around to making formal introductions and all. Actually, I posted once last winter, then promptly dropped back off the face of the earth. I know. Horribly rude of me. Well, here I am....

My mundane name is Melissa...I'm also known as Siobhan, Lady Flame (gee, wild stretch there), and varied other names that quickly turn into epithets with little to no provocation. I was sucked in...err..dragged...uhm...introduced to this forum by my mate, Wolff. That's right, you can blame him for me. My interests, other than the obvious anime include living history, genealogy, fanfic writing (another big reach there), fencing and SCAdian heavy weapons combat, and others *way* too numerous to mention.

Various and sundry smartass and/or insightful commentary to posts to come....

I'd suggest using a duct-taped Rei instead, but she's just to apathetic to make a good weapon.

Heh...mine too. I love it when they come up later to tell me that they either a) let me win, because of some vague chivialrous crap, or b) I'm taking advantage of my gender to do things males couldn't get away with. What those are remain a mystery.

...but they *do* make such a nifty clatter when they land on their asses...

No shit, there I was.....::smacks self::

At any rate, legend has it (by large hairy men out in the August sun for days on end with heavy metal suits taking multiple head shots) that there's a lady heavy from Midrealm, who has a plexiglass breastplate. Yes, I'm well aware of how unlikly this is. Now siddown and listen to the rest of it.

Anyway, she fights sword and board (shield for the rest of the world), and she runs up to a male target, opens her defense to flash the poor hapless soul, and while he's in a state of stunned drooling, clubs him like a handicapped baby seal, then she's gone, back into the mists of legend...or homemade jumgle juice, depending. Now, the rumor mill has even cranked out names, but oddly enough, nobody's seen her and taken a picture. Go figure. So, that's the Loch Ness Monster of Pennsic. We won't get into the "real" monster they float onto Cooper's lake for the event...

Which means that ducking could make matters worse.

Well, yes and no.

It's actually "Show-vaughn", but it gets shortened to Sh-vaughn at high speeds, like, oh, I dunno...normal conversation.

Actually, I took the wrong spelling of that name; I should've taken the Scots spelling when I registered my name with Coropora. Oh well. Otherwise it would've been Siubhan. If it were Welsh, it'd be Siwan. To be even more obnoxious, this is actually the Gaelige (Irish Gaelic) translation of the Hebrew Biblical name of Joan, or Joanna.
