The temptation for someone like, say, MegaZone to just discreetly hit Akio on the back of the head and sling him out of an airlock must have been well-nigh overpowering.

Wouldn't have been a very smart thing to do in the long run, but I sort of like the idea of Freyja looking cluelessly around for her date while Akio is hammering impotently on the outside of Babylon 6's hull and cursing when every impact does nothing more than push him away.
