Personally, the ship's name reminds me of the 1996 movie Star Command. The 'hero' ship in that movie was called the D.R.E. Surprise, and while the acting in the movie was no better than average, the writing managed to use cliches entertainingly instead of annoyingly, and the ship designs were pretty cool, IIRC.
