The thought of a 2399 Trabant possibly existing in UF makes me wonder of there's something like a 2401 Belv out there. With Clarke's gov't on Earth, I could see the economy getting pretty bad in a lot of places.Another thought, related to the above: This incarnation of Top Gear getting a challenge to 'take the most crap car on the market, and turn it into something you'd actually enjoy going for a drive in.' (In May's case, a rather leisurely drive, I would think.)
“They planned their campaigns just as you might make a splendid piece of harness. It looks very well; and answers very well; until it gets broken; and then you are done for. Now I made my campaigns of ropes. If anything went wrong, I tied a knot; and went on.”
