Heck, he doesn't even particularly like Paris, so minimizing the havoc wouldn't really be on his to-do list. OTOH, he totally would not have shot that French cop's wife. There are some things that simply aren't done. (Though I have to admit that in the event, it was an excellent way of illustrating that Liam Neeson was Serious For Reals.)

Well, yeah, that's kind of the point. If those guys had burst into Kate's apartment, she wouldn't have hidden under the bed and phoned her father, she'd have killed them to death. :)
