My personal interpretation of these facial expressions is that Karana is fixing to attempt the time-honored Water Tribe "oh no! here, let me help you out of those wet things" trick, and Azana is totally on to her. :)--G. -><- Benjamin D. So how much extra does Danny charge to draw some ladies whose chests aren't about to burst free of their clothing and rampage across the land, destroying all who oppose them and their new world order?(I kid because I love.) Seriously though, that whole Hand of Glory effect Azana has going on? That is not only well-executed, it is such an obviously COOL effect for a firebender to use that I'm amazed it hasn't been used in either animated series. It will be even more impressive if and when colored. I also choose to believe that what Karana is doing is an attempt to incorporate elements of lightningbending into her style. Note the two-fingered hand positions and how she's in the middle of shifting her weight; she's about to whip her arms around windwill style, point, and unleash WETNESS. -Merc Keep Rat

Cross-element training: It's what's for dinner. (Hey, it worked for Iroh the Elder for his lightning redirection technique (water to fire), no reason it couldn't go the other direction...) --- Philip

That is also possible, though it is not contradictory, in and of itself, of my own theory. :) --G. -><- Benjamin D. It's probably illegal, immoral and/or fattening to grin that much.-- Unable to save the day: File is read-only.

LAST EDITED ON Nov-09-13 AT 07:29 PM (EST) >It's probably illegal, immoral and/or fattening to grin that much. Well, Karana has been known to bend (NPI) a law or two, and she occasionally claims to be a serial immoralist (although normally that's just to annoy Azana's relatives), but she has yet to encounter anything she would classify in practical terms as fattening, possibly because she has such a naturally high activity level. Some people with peculiar ideas about these things think she's a bit chunky already, but, well, there's no accounting for those people who like their women to look all frail and sickly. --G.
