Hey, with very little effort, the Warrior's Wolf Tail is easily transmuted into a proper Fire Nation Topknot. If it worked for Sokka, it can work for the other side too.

(Heck, if they were to do 100-year-war historical reenactments at school, Shinzen could shave most of the rest of his hair away, get some stage makeup, and do a passable Zuko. Provided Azana doesn't get dared to do it first...)
