>Huh. That's remarkably close to the Greek alphabet.I could be misremembering this, but I believe Cyrillic script evolved from ancient Greek by way of Byzantium, in somewhat the same way that the modern Latin alphabet used in English et al. comes from Phoenician by way of Rome.
