No, the underlying scenario would've been the same as that presented in the FD on HTT - Azalynn went to the school they attend in order to get more information on the amazing band whose demo found its way to Kate. The difference would've been that there was no actual Azusa Nakano, and it was the identity Azalynn assumed as part of her Jump Street strategy.

But, like I say, I like the real Azusa too much to shuffle her out of the deck like that. Besides, she's likely to be the first one who suspects that the New Kid isn't what she seems. She's a skeptical little beast. :)
