Indeed, the Ebon Hawk may not even be of Corellian origin.

Yep. The YT-1300 series was in production, in various flavors, for nearly 400 years before it was finally retired in the mid-2300s. They didn't make very many YT-1320 Portsiders, but that design may have been something of an inside joke with Corellian Engineering's management anyway; the original YT-1300 Falcon and the later YT-1350 Super Falcon made up the bulk of production. Later models, like the YT-2000 and YT-2400, continue the family resemblance, as well. Ask people in the UF universe what a light freighter looks like and you'll get a picture of a discus with a plug cockpit attached somewhere. :)

(Incidentally, the fact that the model's trademark name is "Falcon" means there are an awful lot of Something Falcons out there. Spacelines often do that kind of thing with their fleets - Pan American Galactic Spaceways' fleet of Boeing 7227 Starclippers, for instance, are all named Something Clipper. As it happens, the Millennium Falcon originally belonged to a company called Millennium Transport, which was founded on Earth in the wake of First Contact to cash in on the sudden demand for space travel, bought a dozen YT-1300s, and went quite promptly bankrupt not long after the first of the planned fleet was delivered. The ship was then purchased for a scandalously low price at auction by a gambler/entrepreneur by the name of Lando Calrissian, who subsequently lost her in a legendary sabacc game to a young Corellian pilot named Han Solo.)
