I know, right? I was going for sort of a Hellboy vibe, which I delude myself into thinking I managed.

Also, I goddamn love Russian folktales. They never really underwent a bowdlerization phase like all of Western Europe's did, so are preserved in their original "shit's fucked up, yo" forms, with extra effed-upness because, well, Russia.

Well, Baba is of course playing her own game here. It's worth noting that when asked the question, little Polya says nothing at all about serving Stalin or the Revolution, or professes any kind of loyalty to him. She serves Russia.

If Stalin were more on his game at the time, he'd have noticed that. :)
