Phil was looking around at various works of Robert McCall (the aviation and space artist, not Edward Woodward's character on The Equalizer), and came across this one, which depicts part of the Pearl Harbor strike force en route to the attack. I'm not ship recognitionist to know which carriers those are, but both of the task force's Kongō-class battleships are pictured (no telling which is which, but Kirishima and Hiei were both part of the fleet).

What attracts the eye first, though, is naturally the Zeroes.

I remember the sailors waving and shouting to us from Kirishima's decks. They were so happy. We were all so happy. Looking back, I can't imagine why. It seems incredible to me now that none of us realized... we were on our way to start a tournament our own Coach Yamamoto knew we couldn't win.
