I actually did not know that. I took six years of French (nearly all of which I've lost, because it turns out your language center is basically use-it-or-lose-it) and French is... rigorous about what is and isn't a real word and a properly constructed sentence.

It's actually a little bit weird. I've been to France, and they're mostly some pretty laid-back folks... but you get anywhere near their culture and they will cut you. The grudge some French people hold towards I.M Pei is going to make the decades of bitching about the Dodgers leaving Brooklyn look like a quaint tiff that was quickly settled.
