Could I make a suggestion, having not seen either KC or Blue Steel?

Use the tech from those serieseseseses, lump them together, grab a noteworthy vessel or class whose service isn't covered in either show, and use that as a jumping-off point for an OC. If it was up to me, I'd use HMS Seraph as the basis for a deceptive double-agent sort of cove on a deep-cover sabotage mission in Akio's Fleet of Fog assets, but I'm just spitballing. =]
